Today’s “better” concept is especially for my single sisters out there!
The context of the verse is a king writing that security can only be found in the Lord, not armies, human might or in political alliances. Yet, us gals often seek security from a relationship with a wished for Prince Charming. Take heart if you feel as though you’ve been disappointed. True security will never be found in a person–it’s too tall of an order for any human to fill. Only the Lord can fill that need. And your desire for security is a legitimate need that God hard-wired into your soul so that your need would draw you to Him.
Whether you are single or married, may this coming year be “better” because you guard your trust by only seeking refuge and dependence in the Lord. He will not disappoint you!
